Introduction of Learning Management System
Learning Management System or better known as ‘Learning Management System’ (LMS) is a software application for administration, documentation and reporting of training programs, classes and online activities, e-learning programs and training rates.
Learning Management System is a pioneering project based on cooperation between the Ministry of Education Malaysia (MOE) and Mampu. MAMPU has pioneered LMS Meaning under the Open Source Software (OSS) initiative.
LMS can be divided into two categories, namely ‘proprietary’ and ‘open source’. An example of a commonly used proprietary LMS meaning is blackboard while an example of an open source LMS is Moodle. It is widely used because it is free and can be modified.

8.2.1 Post course materials online.
- Most LMS provide pre -programmed buttons for syllabi or course content, course schedules and course materials associated with specific lessons such as reading copies and ‘power point slides’ from lectures.
- Track student progress through assessment features.
- Enables instructors to give quizzes and tests online and an online grade book where instructors can place student grades.
8.2.2 Discussion boards
- Instructors and students can discuss the reading and continue the lecture discussion in a formal lecture session.
8.2.3 Other communication tools (Other communication tools)
- Allows instructors to send announcements to the class and communicate with students in person. Lock box for students where students can store class materials in a safe place i.e. whether the presentation will be held in class then make a second copy for class assignments in a safe place.

8.3 Use of Information Management System (LMS)
LMS is used to facilitate the delivery or delivery of courses online. In addition, LMS has been widely used in universities and colleges around the world. Not to forget, MS also plays an important role in academic activities, teaching and learning and administrative management system in the world of education.
Next, LMS is conducted to support academic departments, organizations and other projects to achieve teaching goals at the tertiary level. The use of LMS aims to increase the amount of feedback received and be able to improve the situation as a result of such feedback.

8.4 Importance of Information Management System.
Information is useful if the information is accurate, up -to -date and easily accessible. The implementation of the LMS system brings many benefits to students as well as organizations. Clearly, now, a systematic information management system can play an important role in learning.
The use of manual information management systems is no longer appropriate in the age of technology. This is because inefficient management can demoralize work among staff. Therefore, LMS needs to be spread as widely as possible.
